Golden Pheasant
The golden pheasant, Chrysolophus pictus, has long, bright yellow headfeathers. It is native to the mountains of central and western China, where it roosts in trees and spends its days scratching at the ground for berries, seeds, and insects. Like all game birds, it flies for only short hops but can take off almost vertically with its muscular wings.
